In addition to all the features of a series coupling, the Intelligent Coupling also serves as a wireless measuring unit. This is made possible by the integrated sensor technology: It measures torque, speed, acceleration in three axes and optionally also axial forces directly from the rotating drive system.
The data generated in this way is processed directly via the internal electronics and can be transferred either to a connected mobile device, a PC or to the machine control system. In this way, operating conditions and any overloads can be precisely recorded and even predicted – a modern approach known in digitalization as operational condition monitoring and the predictive maintenance based on it.
