Linear actuators convert a rotary motion into a linear motion. A distinction can be made between linear actuators with a push rod and actuators with an open screw. Both variants offer special advantages. While the stroke of an open screw is almost unlimited, the push rod offers a more compact installation space in relation, since the push rod disappears completely inside of the linear actuator.
